proionic is happy to announce its latest standard product! EMIM acrylate (1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acrylate, CAS# 871326-06-6) was identified as the best performing polymerizable Ionic Liquid in a joint project with the Institue of Bioproducts and Paper Technology (BPTI, TU Graz).
Besides polymerizable cations, other polymerizable anions (e.g. vinylacetate or vinylphosphonate) were produced and evaluated. Due to the outstanding performance in combination with significantly lower production costs, EMIM acrylate was selected as new standard product to be offered in our web shop.

Furthermore, it aligns with proionic’s strategy of offering only Ionic Liquids in the webshop, that are competitively priced especially in larger quantities and are not solely intended for laboratory research. The combination of our standard cation EMIM+ with an anion whose precursor is readily available on the market results in a product suitable for pratical applications. We hope that researches and scientist will successfully test our new product and develop applications based on EMIM acrylate.”
